On May 18th, the WJMS track team went to Mercer county to compete in the Bill Smith Invitational. For team scores, the girls just barely came in second, losing to Woodford County’s team by half a point. The boys came in third, only 9 points behind second place Anderson County.
100m hurdles: Aly Doyle came in first, setting a new meet record with a time of 15.78. On the boy’s side, Isaiah Merricks won 1st with a time of 15.73, which places him 8th in the state.
100m dash: Nysenia Arnold came in 4th with a time of 14.14
In the 4x200m relay, our girls’ team got second and our boys’ team got first place, setting a school record with a time of 1:45.67.
1600m run: Lilly Greathouse came second with a time of 5:49.72. Ethan Adams came 4th in the boys’ race, with a time of 5:37.02.
4x100m Relay: Girls came 3rd, Boys placed 5th.
400m dash: Katie Mastin placed 4th for the girls. Liam O’Neal and Joshua Tatro placed 3rd and 4th respectively, and both set personal bests with times of 1:00.68 and 1:02.36.
300m Hurdles: Aly Doyle placed 1st with a time of 47.53 in the girl’s race. Isaiah Merricks Placed 3rd for the boys with a time of 47.93.
800m run: Lilly Greathouse got 2nd place with a time of 2:43.22.
200m dash: Isaac McCall finished in 2nd place with a time of 27.18.
4x400m relay: Both the boys and girls finished in second place.
