Behind the scenes of WJMS football

Three eighth graders football players, Colton Spicer, Bryce Chestnut, and Caleb Brown have given their best to the team this year despite having a losing season. Spicer has had a very positive impact on the team.

Spicer’s family members have pushed him to play football. “My brothers motivate me to keep going because they are very successful,” he says. For Chestnut, he was determined to finish the season strong even though the season did not go so well. “Overall the season wasn’t what we hoped for,” Chestnut said.

Chestnut’s dad encouraged him to work hard and taught him “coach perspective.” All football players have enjoyed this season and they are enthusiastic about their next football season as freshmen in high school.
“The season wasn’t so good, but our team worked hard and did good,” Brown said.
