The girls on the West Jessamine Middle School cheer competition team are thoroughly enjoying the team experiences this season.
Brooklyn Corson and Aaliyah Hibbard are two seventh grade students at WJMS that are on the competition cheer team. One of their favorite things about being on the cheer team are the football games, as they love being outside where there is more space for their stunts and flips.
Corson has been on the cheer team for two years and Hibbard has been on it for one. They have both been interested in cheer since fifth grade. Corson’s position on the team is the main base and Hibbard is secondary base with Corson.
“This year’s team is so much better and works much harder than last year,” Corson said reflecting on the season.
Corson hopes to take what she has learned on the cheer team and one day be able to cheer for the University of Kentucky.
