WJMS Competition Cheer Team

The girls on the West Jessamine Middle School cheer competition team are thoroughly enjoying the team experiences this season.

Brooklyn Corson and Aaliyah Hibbard are two seventh grade students at WJMS that our on the competition cheer team. One of their favorite things about being on the cheer team are the football games, as they love being outside where there is more space for their stunts and flips.

Corson has been on the WJMS cheer team for two years now and Hibbard has been on it for one year. They have both been interested in cheer since 5th grade. Corson’s position in the team is the main base and Hibbard is secondary base with Corson.

“This year’s team is so much better and works much harder than last year,” Corson said reflecting on the season.

Corson wants to do cheer in college at the University of Kentucky as that is one of her dreams about being on the competition cheer team. So hopefully the WJMS cheer team will be able to help her-and others- to achieve their dreams.
