With COVID-19 still in the back of our mind, West Jessamine Middle has pushed through our first full week of school.
Even though students and staff are getting adjusted to new safety protocols, most people seem happy to be back to in-person classes.
“Despite all the challenges to coming back in person it’s been worth it to see students in my classroom,” said Angela Burton, eighth-grade social studies teacher.
West Middle currently has two students that have tested positive for COVID and one positive staff member. The school currently has 57 people in quarantine.
Regardless, it has been nice getting back into our in-person routine.
“I’m glad to see students back , and I wish they were all able to be back,” said Raymond Scales, eighth-grade math teacher. “I really miss everyone’s smiles in my classroom.”
